Alyssa’s maternity session was filled with soft light, timeless styling, and the kind of calm presence that makes these sessions feel so meaningful. Photographed in my Rochester HIlls photography studio, her session focused on simple, elegant portraits that highlighted both the beauty of pregnancy and the connection between this growing family.

From flowing fabrics and soft draping to more fitted, minimal looks, every image was designed to feel clean, natural, and timeless. The neutral tones, soft textures, and bright studio setting kept the focus exactly where it belonged — on Alyssa and the life she is preparing to welcome.
One of the things I love most about maternity sessions is how different each one feels. Some families want a more editorial look with dramatic fabrics and movement, while others prefer something soft and understated. Alyssa’s session blended both beautifully, creating a gallery that feels both modern and emotional.
Her husband joined for a portion of the session as well, adding another layer of connection and storytelling to these images. Those quiet moments between the two of them — looking ahead to this next season together — are always some of my favorite images to capture.
The studio wardrobe and fabric draping options gave us several different looks throughout the session while still keeping the overall feel cohesive and minimal. Whether wrapped in soft chiffon, wearing a flowing gown, or styled in something simple and fitted, Alyssa looked absolutely beautiful.
Maternity sessions are typically photographed between 28 and 34 weeks, when your bump is beautifully visible but you are still feeling relatively comfortable. Sessions can take place in the studio or outdoors, depending on the look and feel you want for your images.
