Cake smash sessions celebrate your baby’s first birthday and the joyful personality that begins to shine during this milestone year.

At El & Em Photography, sessions take place in my Rochester Hills studio and are designed to feel calm, guided, and relaxed while capturing your baby’s first birthday in a timeless way.

Each cake smash session includes a combination of classic baby portraits and playful cake smash moments, creating a beautiful collection of images that celebrate this special chapter for your family.

Cake Smash sessions include:

  • studio session in Rochester Hills

  • classic baby portraits before the cake smash

  • first birthday cake smash portraits

  • optional parent and baby portraits

  • access to a private online viewing gallery

  • professionally edited digital images

Sessions are baby-led, allowing time for breaks so your child can stay comfortable and happy throughout the experience.

A simple and timeless cake smash session designed to celebrate your baby’s first birthday and capture this joyful milestone.

Session includes:

  • 1-hour studio session at the Rochester Hills studio (baby only)

  • the studio’s signature white cake smash setup

  • handcrafted cake from RH Homebaked Goods in Rochester

  • access to the studio’s curated baby wardrobe

  • 10 professionally edited images of your choice from your gallery

  • in-person or online reveal and order appointment

The signature setup features clean, classic styling, allowing your baby’s personality and first birthday celebration to be the focus of the images.

Luxe Cake Smash Experience

Investment | $650

An elevated cake smash experience for families who want a more customized and styled first birthday celebration.

This session builds on the Signature Cake Smash and includes additional design and styling for a more personalized look.

Session includes:

  • 1-hour studio session at my Rochester Hills studio (baby only)

  • your choice of a themed or styled cake smash setup

  • custom-designed cake from RH Homebaked Goods in Rochester

  • access to the studio’s curated baby wardrobe

  • 10 professionally edited images of your choice from your gallery

  • in-person or online reveal and ordering appointment

I take care of the styling, setup, and creative direction, allowing you to relax and simply enjoy celebrating this milestone.

 
 

A $100 non-refundable retainer is required to reserve your cake smash session date.
The remaining balance is due on the day of your session.

 
 

When to Book Your Cake Smash Session

Cake smash sessions are typically scheduled 3–6 weeks before your baby’s first birthday, allowing time for images to be ready for birthday celebrations.

Because availability is limited, many families reserve their first birthday cake smash session several months in advance to secure their preferred date.
